Culturally Mature Perspective helps us better understand history. It proposes that much of how we have commonly seen the past has been a product of projection. And it argues that even the best of modern depictions of history are limited by our Modern Age lenses for understanding. Cultural Maturity also proposes that the past today is pertinent to the tasks ahead in a sense it has not been before. The needed more systemic understanding is newly encompassing not just in terms of the here-and-now factors it takes into account, but also in its appreciation for—and deeper engagement with—who we are as developmental beings (including how we have evolved as social/cultural beings).
