Creative Systems Theory proposes that what most defines us is our tool-making, meaning-making—creative—natures. It goes on to use a creative frame as the basis for a comprehensive set of “pattern language” concepts that address identity, change, and interrelationship in human systems of all sorts. Patterning in Time concepts address change in humans systems at all levels—the progression of a simple creative act; developmental change in the life of an individual; and changes over time in personal relationships, families, organizations, and in larger interpersonal systems, including species-wide evolutionary change.
